Book clubs are great for authors. Here's how to club with the cool book kids.

You’ve probably seen those celebrity “book clubs” mentioned in the news. You know, Oprah and Reese. Books that make those lists get a mega PR boost. If you’re lucky, your book may get in one of those “clubs.”. (Frankly, I do not recall ever seeing a metaphysical book on one of those celeb book clubs, but correct me if I’m wrong on that.)
But remember, these celebrity book clubs are just the tip of the iceberg. Book clubs, both online and offline, have been a cherished part of the reading community for generations. They provide a safe space for readers to come together, share their thoughts, and delve into the world of books (and maybe drink wine). As an author, you're an integral part of this community, and your presence is always appreciated.
Many of these groups are eager to welcome authors with open arms. They relish the opportunity to chat with their favorite writers and ask burning questions. For metaphysical authors, this is a golden chance to connect with your fans. The prospect of such an interaction should be a source of excitement and motivation. If you’re invited, it's a unique opportunity that's worth considering (provided you have the time - not trying to add one more thing to your to-do list).
But what if that invite never comes? How do you find these folks? And what do you say when you’re in the hot seat? How do you handle a critic in the audience? Great questions! Here’s what you need to know about hanging out with book clubs and discussing your book.
