I'm a woman of many words and books (Gemini!). I'm sharing my best tips and inspo for metaphysical writers.
Dear mystical friend,
Somewhere, deep inside, there is a metaphysical book tugging at your heart, one you’ve longed to write for a long time. You might have started, but then life got in the way…or you simply gave up.
Perhaps you stopped because you don’t know if your idea is good enough - or you assume it’s been done before. Or maybe you’re working a full-time job and raising a family, so your time to write is rarer than a painite crystal.
It’s also possible these fears run through your mind every time you open your laptop:
:: I don’t have an MFA.
:: I don’t know where to start.
:: I don’t have an agent.
:: I’ve never written a book proposal (and have zero idea what goes into it).
:: What if I get rejected?
:: What happens if I get a one-star review?
:: How the heck can I market this book if I have no idea what to do (or despise social media)?
:: I am too old, young, etc., etc.
What if, what if, what if…
I how I know those “what ifs” so well. Yep, believe it or not, I’ve been there, friend. Let’s reframe those thoughts for one second.
What if:
:: You could find time to write, even with a busy schedule.
:: You don’t have a fancy degree or agent - and don’t want one.
:: You love writing more than your morning coffee.
:: You discover a (fun) way to market that doesn’t break your cojones or your budget.
Think it’s impossible? It’s not.
I’ve written numerous books, blog posts, forewords, and texts for tarot decks despite not having a degree or an agent. I’ve done this while running multiple businesses and a household. I’m also incredibly introverted, yet I figured out how to market my books and connect with the public. And I didn’t start writing books until I hit the big 5-0.
Over the years, people asked me: how did you manage to do this?
Like everything else: through lots of effort - plus some good ole trial and error. I took risks, classes, and writing retreats. I spent time honing my craft (and am still learning every single day). I read lots of books and asked questions. I’ve even taught my own writerly workshops.
Over the years, I’ve found the resources for writers to be plentiful, but for metaphysical folks? Welp, that’s a bit scarce. Our industry is different, and we have special needs that many writing teachers or groups don’t offer.
So I decided to do something about it: The Metaphysical Author’s Confidential.
Ta-da!

Hello Madam Wordsmith! What an intriguing format. I did not intend to join the fray, but what potential this platform has for developing a project, be it journal research articles prior to the dreaded peer review, a Chapbook of poetry without the mentioned MFA in hand, a blog start up or turning stacks of notes on metaphysical workings over the decades into a guidebook has my attention. I have written my entire adult life, whether it was technical writing, keeping a gratitude journal, sending letters to friends, drafting policies, writing grant proposals, documenting problem solving efforts with evidence of permanent corrective action for customers, noodling in poetry, creating petitions for assorted workings and keeping the wild and wooly stack of notes on something or other in the realm of metaphysics. Pens and stories become magic. This I know for sure. Looking forward to your take on the nuts and bolts of putting a manuscript together for publication.
Cheers on this project launch!
